A common question is: "Why are you called Konges Sløjd?" 

The first part, "Konges," refers to our founder's surname – Emilie Konge. The second part, "Sløjd," is an old Danish word associated with solid craftsmanship.

In 2014, Konges Sløjd started as a small business on Instagram, run from a modest basement in Copenhagen. Emilie Konge was driven by the lack of safe and beautiful products on the market and decided to create her own children’s universe. Interest quickly grew and in no time, so did demand. Today, whether you are on a playground in Denmark, at a pool in Thailand, or in a French café, there’s a good chance you’ll spot a happy child using Konges Sløjd products.  

We are a bold bunch of positive, caring, and creative people, all passionate about creating sparkly and thoughtful products that bring a sense of ease, beauty, and humour into everyday life. We stick together, and do everything in-house.
